Review: Todd Barry at Laughs

Last night’s performance at Laugh’s was outstanding save for one thing: Kirkland. I guess maybe I’m the most puzzled by the idea of going to see a comedy show without having any clue who is featured that evening. Or, at the least, having the decency to show up not knowing but still enjoying yourself and being respectful. Well, last night Kirkland lived up to its stripmall vibes by producing several annoying dude-bros who were entirely uninterested to be at the show they just paid too much money to see. Really a bummer. Thankfully, Todd Barry handled them well and continued unfazed. I do have some regrets about the show:
1) I did not stay late to walk Todd Barry from the building, as requested. Hope he’s okay.
2) I did not attend the after party at Shari’s.
3) Ordering the garlic cheese bread.
I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to see Todd perform again, as it had been a while. Go see him live. Genuinely one of the funniest comedians in the business today.

This is “Book”, signing off.
